Lynton and Barnstaple loco for OO9 from Heljan

ready-to-run Lynton & Barnstaple locomotive in OO9.

The Railway Modeller magazine has revealed – in its March 2013 issue – that Heljan is to produce what will be the first ever ready-to-run locomotive in OO9 for the British market. The move was prompted by the surprise announcement from Peco at the Warley NEC show in November 2012 for its ready-to-run models of Lynton & Barnstaple wagons and coaches. Heljan's initial plan is to produce the Manning-Wardle 2-6-2Ts (Yeo, Exe, and Taw) in their most familiar form. Read the full story in the magazine, on sale from Thursday 14 February.
